Shipping cylinders

 Wrap cylinders in a plastic bag or plastic wrap. Pad them tightly with crumpled newspaper, dense foam or shipping peanuts.  Be sure cylinder (s) are secure and don't move freely in the box causing damage. insurance doesn't cover poorly boxed items.

If shipping Rave valves with 787/800 or 947/951 Send the valve only we do NOT want the plastic caps or housing they tend to break in shipping.

Be sure to include a copy of your receipt.  We need your name, phone number, email address and a physical shipping address.  We return ship via UPS and they won't ship to P.O. boxes.

 Ship UPS or Fed Ex, or U.S.P.S.

Don't forget to insure your shipment.  If you keep your shipping receipt, you can check online to see when it is received on our end.  Please send with signature required. Please don't call to see if we received your cylinders or engine!!!  When you ship them, keep a copy of your tracking info, you will know it is here before we can even check it in.  This helps keep the phone lines open and our techs working on possibly your engine or top end. 
 

Shipping engines.

Short blocks (engines) ship well in storage bins. We recommend Rubber Maid Rough Neck storage bins packed tightly with dense styrofoam, shipping blankets or crumpled paper then secure the lid by drilling holes around the top outer (from the top straight down) edge and through the upper edge of the bin, then secure with zip ties. Note Please be sure to pad the engine on all sides with extra padding on the bottom and the corners.  Plywood works well to spread out the weight on the bottom but does still require padding.  We recommend 1 1/2 -3 inches of  styrofoam under the engine. Common sense helps don't just throw your engine loosely in a tote without padding and DON'T use bubble wrap!!!  insurance doesn't cover poorly boxed items.

U.S.P.S. (post office) works well for cylinders and smaller items, but can take longer.
U.P.S. and Fed-Ex both work well for shipping engines up to 150 pounds.

Most cylinders run $15- $25 to ground.

Complete engines usually run in the $65-$75 area in the 48 continental States.
